The key to Mr B keeping a bright, healthy smile throughout the lifetime of these crowns is to practice proper oral hygiene. Anyone can get cavities, as well as gum disease, that can lead to serious problems. So, it is important for Mr B to continue to:

• Brush twice a day (2 minutes) with a fluoride toothpaste to remove plaque.
• Floss daily to remove plaque from between the teeth and under the gum line, before it can harden into tartar. (Once tartar has formed, it can only be removed by a professional clean.)
• Limit eating sugary or starchy foods, especially sticky snacks. The more often anyone snacks between meals, the more chance the acids in the plaque have to attack one’s teeth.
